What This Country Needs!

Channel surfing on the web today. I finally figured out why people are so engaged by this Election.

See, as I was browsing this vast universe that Al Gore invented I realized something. No matter what you are looking for you can find it ( I had this revelation while looking for tranny midgets in latex). See if you support John Kerry you can find a poll that puts him in the lead by a couple of points. If you support "DUBYA" you can find that same poll only with your Cowboy in the lead.

Think Husker Du is the best band ever? There is a support group for you out there. Think the new Brittany song is artistically brilliant? Swing on over to that message board.

Once you find your home on the web you can talk with like minded people who agree with you and don't really care what other people think.

See this is the problems with politics. If Dubya wins.....We have to live with him. We can't have separate Presidents. We can't ignore the other side. We actually have to live with the outcome of this election.

If I want to hear how John Kerry would make a better President than that pretzel choking, baby killing, simpleton. I just go to michealmoore.com

If I want my beliefs verified how John Kerry is a weak Latte' drinking Massachusetts pansy boy. I just point my browser to seanhannity.com and I know I will be in good company.

See in this new world we don't really need to engage in debate. We just find like minded people and agree with them.

That's why I'm looking forward to these debates. We will actually be able to see how close these candidates can get to each other. George Bush will talk about Health Care for the first time in 4 years and how he will help the middleclass this time around.

John Kerry will mention that he would do things different than the President but he would still have voted for the war in Iraq knowing that we went in under false pretenses.

After you watch the debate it will only take a second to figure out who won. Just go to your favorite website. They will tell you everything you need to know. Unless of course you accidentally go to the wrong website. Make that mistake and you just might find out how fucking stupid you are.

Don't fret though just erase that from your cache and never worry about it again.

Falling!

I often wonder why fall feels so good. The smell of Fall. The air is crisp. I often call it girlfriend weather. The time of year when girls put on jeans and sweaters. I have never been much for girls in bikinis. You can't talk to another human while they are in a g-string and if you do conversation takes a back seat. I have always been intrigued by a girl in a sweatshirt and a decent conversation about music or politics over a cup of coffee.

What is that feeling that Fall brings? Even in the worst of times and depths of depression and alcoholism. Fall brought back the feeling of innocence.

The chance that I might be able to pull it together for one afternoon. An opening of a door that would lead me away from where I was. That perfect girl in jeans a sweatshirt and a scrunchie(is that a word and do you know what I mean?) around her wrist. That maybe...Just maybe I could have a decent cup of joe and a glimpse of what happiness could be.

Fall is about one last grasp at a moment in time when I was a little less jaded and a little less "wiser". Fall is about companionship. It's about lazy Saturday afternoons with someone whose opinion you respect. That spark of life that had been missing from my existence for so long.

I did meet that girl. We have coffee outside every Saturday in the fall. I never tell her why I like doing that. I guess I'm afraid it would ruin the moment.

yearbooks with their autographs
from friends you might have had
these are your important years
you'd better make them last
falling in and out of love just like...
these are your important years, your life
once you've seen the light, you finally realize
it might end up all right
it might end up all right now

What A DICK!

Dick Cheney freaks me out. How can this fucking guy be an elected official???

Talking about the war on terror, Cheney said, and I quote: "I think some have hoped that if they kept their heads down and stayed out of the line of fire, they wouldn't get hit. I think what happened in Russia now demonstrates pretty conclusively that everybody is a target. That Russia, of course, didn't support us in Iraq, they didn't get involved in sending troops there, they've gotten hit anyway."

You have to be fucking kidding me???

Russia's issue with Chechneya has no bearing on our involvement and their lack of in Iraq.

So if Russia would have sent troops to Iraq....they would have saved the lives of 300 children?

Seriously, if you are not outraged by the continued fear tactic this administration uses, that is now spreading to other countries, your not paying attention.

Don't even get me started on the damage that does to relationships with countries who may want to help us out of this fucking debacle these asshats have gotten us into.

If you were Putin would you be running to help your good pal Dick Cheney in Iraq now?

Sunday Morning!

Nothing is better than sitting back on a Sunday reading the news sipping coffee (does it make me gay that I have a Cinnamon Sticks candle burning?).

A couple of thoughts from the Rock The Vote show in Westport. How fantastic was it to see so many people engaged in the political process. Sure some people showed up only for the acts and thats fine but there was a sea of people who came early and really listened to what the candidates had to say (except Kobach).

Can I say this with out being booed off stage? I really like Kris Kobach.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like him at all politically. He makes George Bush look like Jerry Brown but he is actually a nice guy. I respect him for having the balls to come out to what he had to know was going to be a pretty confrontational crowd. He so believes in his thought process that he figures if you just hear it..how could you not agree? His staff knew who I was. They knew I bashed him on the air quite a bit and yet were still friendly. I would even say I liked talking to them. Granted they all looked like they just left the Lamda Alpha Homophoba kegger but still seemed like decent guys.
Thats why I think he may be the most dangerous person running for office. If he could make me think he is not such a bad guy what could he do to the less jaded?

Does anyone think he might be quazi homophobic because he spells his name with a K? Kris is short for Kristen isn't it?

Did anyone see Nate Hogan? I thought he gave the best talk of them all. He was passionate, concise and had a little bit of fire in him. I was so impressed with Nate Hogan that I checked out his website.

http://www.natehoganforkansas.com/

It felt good to see and hear someone young, passionate and smart out there giving them hell. The good news is for every Kobach. There seems to be a guy like Nate Hogan who will step up and face them head on.

The other thing I took away from this show?

There is no shortage of young, smart, passionate people in Kansas City.

This ones for Dennis Mooore

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
As I was walking
a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me!

E-mails with my 15 year old nephew!

Today I give thanks ot George Bush. This is the first time in my life that I have seen 15 year olds engaged in the political process. See when The President sends messages of seperation and bigotry...people of all ages, colors and sexual orientation start to wake up.

I have a 15 year old nephew. We usually talk about music, sports the usual shit. I saw him on my last vacation. The family started talking politics and relgion. I'm usually the guy who gets thrown out of the house around this point.

When all of the sudden my nephew spoke up. He started talking about how people are people and we shouldn't discriminate at any level. He asked questions about why would we attack Iraq if they didn't attack us. He mentioned words like Halliburton and the Carlysle group( I asked him if he had seen f9-11..he hadn't). He asked about the swift boat ads and mentioned that Gradpa had said all of the same things John Kerry had said only behind closed doors. Why would we be mad at a man that just said it to everyone. He talked about the seperation of church and state even though his father is a minister.

See when people close minds there are always those that open. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For that I thank George Bush.

Now to the email...

Hey did u see the Republican convention. I hate to admit it but i though it was good except for certain speakers. What the hell is all this dwelling on the war that ended 35 fucking years ago. When there is a war now. Arnolds speech was good, surprisingly good. Well that's my thoughts on it. Oh and on my skateboard grip tape( that's the top of the board) I wrote with a paint marker "KERRY ME TO FREEDOM" its good. It starts a lot of discussions with fellow skaters.

Does fellow skaters sound like future leaders to anyone?
