NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND!
The myriad debacle is in black and white!
Here are a couple of e-mails from Lee's Summit North High to me......enjoy! (these have not been edited except for the obvious) Remember this was sent to me from a class that was susposed to be correcting my use of the word myriad. Which I used correctly.
Comments:
on your comercial for the buzz free loaders you say "a myriad of things" when it should be "myriad things" i would have never noticed this but my english teacer did these kinds of things excite her alot but i was wondering if i could get afree t shirt or cd my adress is (edited)my name is (edit) Thanx alot i love your radio station.
Comments:
In my English class my English teacher has pointed out to us that you are using a word incorectly. You are saying a myriad of things when it should be simply "myriad things.." exe: myr·i·ad- the myriad life of the metropolis. I like u guys and i listen 2 ur radio station all the time just though u guys should know
Comments:
In my English class my teacher made a comment about how you screwed up saying the words "myriad of things" well it makes her mad so fix it
Comments: Dear Music Programming, I have always been a fan of Jessica Simpson. I have her pictures posted all over my room, I have all her cd's, I know the lyrics like the back of my hand, and I even try to learn some of her dance moves! So naturally when I found out that your radio station played her music, I was utterly THRILLED!!! I've been listining to the buzz ever since! But recently I heard something that deeply dissapointed me. On my way to the best school in the world (Lee's summit North)I was listening to the show that you guys play in the morning.I heard sombody say the following words:"A myriad of things". I WAS APPALLED!!!!!!I could not believe it! Dont you people know that the word "Myriad" means "Many"?!?!?!? When you say the phrase, "A myriad of things" you are basically saying "A many of things".That my friends, is old english. I mean common, what is this? The 1500's?!?!?!?Move into the 21st century for God's sake! Gosh...what is this world comming to when our favorite radio stations dont even use proer english. This is Nate-Dogg, signing out.P.s. Disregaurd everything you just read except for the mryiad part. My English teacher put me up to this. So blame her, not me.

Love Letters To Lazlo
Name: Ann-Marie E-mail Address: annmarie0725@yahoo.com City: Overland ParkComments:
Driving home from work today, I was listening to your station at 3:30PM--although I totally believe in free speech and our rights, your dj at the time went way over the line with calling the lady on the line "Ann" a "g-d bitch."
If this is the best you can find to air on your station, you must really be hurting. This dj showed his ignorance and stupidity with his name calling...ANY person of a minority should be offended with his action, as I was.
When he referred to her as a "Bitch" he may as well as been calling her a "Jew", "Nigger", "Son of a Bitch", etc. it's all the same.
Trust that I will exercise my right NOT to listen to your station again and I will be sure to spread the word to all I encounter, including my children.
My best regards,
Ann-Marie

No Blog Left Behind!
Every other guy with a blog gives his take on the debate. So here we go.....
The flu shot question. Bush blamed Britain and than said he was getting help from Canada. In the last debate didn't he say he was worried the drugs coming out of Canada just may kill us? When discussing health-care I don't think the answer is "if your healthy don't get a flu shot." He also said Kerry's health plan would lead us to rationing.....(please reread last paragraph)
Did anyone else think John Kerry sounded a little more to the center when he spoke about immigration and gun control?
We knew it would happen and it did. G.W. never said he would ban abortion....How did right to lifers feel about that?
He said he didn't know whether homosexuality is a choice or not.....He also seemed to say that a vote on a ban of homosexual marriage was a good way for the people to get involved in the debate because they have to vote on it.....Why dont we have a constitutional ammendment on everything than?
I thought Kerry really got after him on minumn wage, pro-choice and health care.
He also made the big promise that seniors like to hear. He will not change social security.
He had a good line about after school programs being cut while the rich get richer. That should piss off some moms.He seemed in my mind to hit George where it hurt on Pell Grants and I don't think he can mention enough the lack of funding for no child left behind.
I did think Bush did a good job on personal issues. He seemed like a nice guy this time around. He didn't come off angry like the last debate or stupid like the first one. He is amazing when he admits his faults. The old "I ain't too well spoken" schtick really works for him.
He hammerd home his tax cuts and I guess if normal americans really felt a bump from it...that plan will work. If there were a bunch of guys sitting around saying " I didn't get shit" than it will backfire.
He did, and I'm guessing he will get nailed on it, make one huge error.
I know a tape is out there of him saying he didn't worry too much about Osama anymore. Kerry nailed him on it and than he denied it. Someone has to be able to dig that tape up!(Jude, I'm putting you on this task!)
When they asked about faith.....and I'm asking because I'm not a real relgious guy....did any of you "believers" feel like Kerry stole a little of George Bush's thunder?
He seemed well versed in the bible and his own convictions. I also liked his quoting of JFK when it came to faith.
As a guy who likes to keep his higher power and his President seperate, I like Kerry saying he can't legislate an article of his faith. He wins me on that comment but will lose alot of others.
Did George Bush say immigrants should be able to get a working card and "mate up" with employers? Why does he have one of these stupid sayings in every debate? Maybe they can "mate up on the internets"?
I thought Kerry saying he would defend Roe V Wade was probably a good move when it comes to rallying women voters.
He seriously loses the majority of the Right Wing Christian vote with staements like that which is probably why Bush didn't say he would over turn it. He doesn't have too. He has rallied his base enough. Kerry could actually have GOD for his running mate and the Pat Robertson crowd would still vote for the President.
I thought Kerry once again appeared more Presidential. He seemed like a leader. He seemd better prepared and had a firm grasp on all the issues.
Bush seemed like your pal a solid guy you could have BBQ with.... (which probably aint all bad when your looking for a vote in MISSerRAH).

Will Stem Cell research stop people from sending me dumb e-mail?
Yesterday at work we were listening to different stations when we came upon yours. You went on and on about how "Bush killed Christopher Reeves". Could you perhaps maybe enlighten us ignorant folk on how you came to this obviously well thought out and intellectual theory of yours? I heard some big technical words like "Stem Cells". There seems to be ALOT of confusion on the subject and you sure do sound like you're an expert. If you don't mind a few questions Mr. Lazlo, I sure would appreciate it and I would be your #1 fan! My first question Mr. Lazlo is where do I find verification of their being a Federal Ban on Fetal Stem Cell Research? For some strange reason I can't seem to find any Federal Ban on Fetal Stem Cell Research. It's as if there is no Federal Ban on Fetal Stem Cell Research. Is it Top Secret or something? My next question is where do I find data supporting the postulation that fetal stem cells cure anything or even look like they will? Everything I'm finding points to Adult Stem Cells as being path to any advances in the medical field. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong medical research journals? Please help me Mr. Lazlo, you seem to be a really, really smart person.
Dear Sir,
Perhaps I'm not as bright as you O' wise one but here is some food for thought.
What has George Bush decided?
He has decided to allow federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, permitting American scientists to carry out experiments on about 60 stem cell cultures already in research facilities using government money. We have now found that only 19 are usable and those are contaminated with mouse cells.
G.W. has said scientists can't use government money to extract stem cells from new embryos, an operation which would kill the embryo. But private money can still be used for this kind of research. I would rather our tax money go to science than a misleading war....But that's me and I ain't that bright. I will take this from G.W.'s homepage to answer your last question....I always say...Go to the source!
" Based on preliminary work that has been privately funded, scientists believe further research using stem cells offers great promise that could help improve the lives of those who suffer from many terrible diseases -- from juvenile diabetes to Alzheimer's, from Parkinson's to spinal cord injuries. And while scientists admit they are not yet certain, they believe stem cells derived from embryos have unique potential. "
-George W Bush
My question to you, why does your hero hate Superman?
Stay Golden,
Lazlo
Here is another!
From: Matt Johnosn@amerchoice.com Way to fair and balanced show. You and anyone in entertainment should use your celeberty( loose term for you) to help solve problems instead of just pointing them out. Your cause has no merit. Your just a cheerleader for the loosing team and you don't even know what your cheering about. Kerry lies. You are Stupid
Sir,
I obviously bow to your superior intellect. Your quick wit and well thought out approach leaves me baffled.
I shall refrain from further debate with you.
Still your pal,
Lazlo

Great Men Doing Great Things!
What a weekend! Presidential debate was fantastic. Agree or disagree this was a couple of guys who really believed what they were saying and took it to each other. What a moment of historic American History. Ivy league grads who are successful in life and public service duking it out!
Saturday was a great day for college football and baseball! Young men going to college getting good grades and focusing on sports at an incredible level. I couldn't even pass Algebra in College let alone practice all week and run for 3 T.D.'S on a Saturday in front of 100,000 fans!
Baseball was great Derek Jeter is a clutch kind of guy. Love him or hate him he has done nothing but succeed. He grew up in a small town in Michigan in a multi-racial family and has succeeded on the biggest stage in America......Repeatedly!
Sunday we saw "old" guys like Vinny Testerverde and Deion Sanders do amazing things with their bodies even though they are 10 years older than me. They accomplish tasks through persistence and focus. We can learn a lot from all of these people.
As I thought about this tonight. I thought....What makes these people great??? What did they do to become great?
I reached up and turned off the T.V.
That seemed like a decent start.

My Take on The V.P. Debates
First let me say, I have a terrible cold. It took everything I had to stay up through debate. That said I just got up and didn't see any of the spin yet. So here is my honest opinion with out Sean Hannity or Al Franken stealing a couple of brain cells from me.
Dick Cheney won.
He had better one liners and sound bites. The never meeting John Edwards before was pretty damaging.
He seemed more Presidential than the President. Do Republicans wish this ticket was reversed???
I thought Edwards did good also. He nailed Cheney on Haliburton a couple of times and the line doing business with our sworn enemies was pretty powerful.
Now here is where I think this could all go bad for Dick Cheney.
He said (and when he said it I just about shit blood) that he had never made the connection between Saddam and Iraq to 9-11.
I'm pretty fucking sure he has made that connection. There has to be video out there. If there is video of him making the connection and last night saying he never did. Hand the debate to Edwards. Make it double if he had really met John Edwards before.
I also think Dick Cheney didn't do much to get the Rap The Vote crowd out when he didn't even reply to the charge that he voted against a Martin Luther King Holiday.
I figure it doesn't matter who won and who lost as it will be quickly erased from peoples minds after Fridays debate.
Wonder what the Falwell crowd thought of Dick Cheney having his lesbian daughter and her life partner go up on stage after the debate.

Orange And Red States!
A full day of taking in the spin over the Presidential debates and I have yet to hear one ounce of propaganda that can make forget what I saw last night.
Now, I admit my judgment comes through rose colored (perhaps a shade of blue would be better for me) glasses but come on. When your war cry is "Don't FORGET POLAND"! Something happened on the way to the podium.
I got to work today and one of my ( most admitted defeat gracefully) Republican co-workers asked me my thoughts on the debate. I said I loved it! He said it was the worst the debate he had ever seen. He said both were terrible speakers. I quickly mentioned no talking points were going to help him spin this thing. He looked at me distressed and snapped " you don't know what you are talking about".
I didn't say anything because we all know not to poke a pissed off elephant. He may have invaded my office. Well since he is Republican he would have invaded someone else's office and tied my statements to them...But I digress.
Here is what hit me after I walked away though. Is this stubborn for stubborn sake a Republican trait?
Is this admitting something bad happened or a mistake was made not acceptable to people who love G.W.?
Maybe that's why I don't get it. It shouldn't be hard to say " Hey, I fucked up". Now give me a second and I'll fix it. This is a lesson we should learn as third graders shouldn't we?
I also wonder why they have the inability to speak out against their hero?
Do I like everything Kerry says or does??? FUCK NO!
When he said a couple of weeks ago he would have voted the same way knowing than what he knows now about the war. I almost shit blood. How the fuck could you say that? If I knew there was no link between Saddam and 9-11. No W.M.D.'S? I would still vote to strike the way we did??? Fuck NO! And don't give me that Bullshit about the vote was giving the power to President. I may have voted that way than. Now that I know The President is like a fucking little kid with a BB Gun and shitty aim. I don't think I would give him that authority again.
Good debate last night.....Of the two candidates no spin can change this fact.
One came in with an orange face....One left with a red face.
