They all hate me!

Something funny happened to me today! If you listen on a regular basis you know we usually do current event Wed.
I got a wild hair up my ass. Wasn't feeling very well and figured what the fuck.I'll do some Holiday shopping.

Well I guess that pissed some people off. See I have been getting calls and emails from a few people who wanted me to talk about the Diebold voting machines and their future use in Kansas. I wanted to talk about the issue because I believe it deserves some discussion. In the end I figured if I do it on Thursday. It ain't going to kill anybody. I will now show the emails that were cc'd from the group that wanted me to talk about this important issue.

Uh Oh. Someone went Holiday shopping!

E-mail #2

Today's Current Events Wednesday on the Buzz, and I
was told that Lazlo was going to talk about the
Diebold situation.

Instead, he and Slimfast are out Christmas shopping!
They're not even in the studio, and no one's answering
the studio line.

This may be a corporate decision not to cover this and
to avoid discussing it by being out of the studio.
Please call Entercom Broadcasting, the parent company,
at ************ ( I'm only editing it because it was a number I have never seen before....sorry to the person with that number)

p.s. We've sent flowers in the past to thank Lazlo for
covering important topics. Why not send him dead
flowers this time?
http://www.thepayback.com/getrevenge.html

Dead fucking flowers? Is this bitch for real? I was getting fucking holiday presents for my sick wife!

Dead fucking flowers? Because I didn't hit the Diebold topic on their time table?

Either way I think it is an issue and we should investigate. We should discuss. We should also try not to send people dead fucking flowers.

So please. If you get a chance. Photoshop some dead flowers and send them to her. Let her know that while I am the only real voice of dissent....even I have to do some Holiday shopping.

President Gas!

Let me say one thing. Thank you! When I came here people told me Kansas City would never embrace an Alternative radio station. Couldn't be done. In order to be successful you had to play Trapt records.

Knowing I would probably fail I had to try it my way. I couldn't believe people wouldn't enjoy something entertaining and also passionate about music. Everybody said it has to be one or the other. It is either Howard Stern or Public Radio. I thought we could pull something off that takes from the good of both of those.

We did and we have.

I have been in this business for almost 10 years and you guys gave me the thrill of my life. How spectacular for a guy like me to say the words " Here is The Psychedelic Furs".

No matter what happens I will remember that moment. One of my all time favorite bands played a concert that I was lucky enough to be a part of.

See. None of this happens without you. You don't buy tickets. You don't listen. You don't call in and say funny shit. This all goes away. I can't have that. I'm living a dream.

When Richard Butler came out and did President Gas. I was floored. How great he sounded. How true his words were 20 years later. It took a minute for me to just sit back and absorb what I was seeing. I could do nothing but smile. Move my leg awkwardly off beat and sing.

there's an army on the dance floor
it's a fashion with a gun my love
in a room without a door
a kiss is not enough in
love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes
they'd put us on a railroad
they'd dearly make us pay
for laughing in their faces
and making it our way
there's emptiness behind their eyes
there's dust in all their hearts
they just want to steal us all
and take us all apart
but not in
love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes
love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes
love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes
so swallow all your tears my love
and put on your new face
you can never win or lose
if you don't run the race

Tookie, Iraq, Katrina...What is a person to think?

With all of the news stories lately it is very easy to find yourself thinking in circles.

What are we here for? What is the right thing? Is life precious? Does it matter? Are we supposed to kill people? Are we supposed to kill only bad people? Who are the bad people? Who do we help? Who do we not help? What is our role in making the world a better place and can we do that through killing other humans? Whose lead do we follow? God? Does he want us to kill people? Does he want us to help the poor? Does he want us to give and give and give? Is he on our side? Are we on his side?

Smoke a lucky and think about those questions for a minute. Go back and check your stance on all of the latest headlines.

Do you believe what you say? Do you believe what you think? Do you say what you believe? Do you say what you think? Do you believe what you say?

Hey! Other people feel it!

"You get a young guy, tattooed up, diamonds everywhere, who can talk and speak his mind but also back it up, and it kind of rubs people the wrong way. Usually out there, everybody's old. It's like the Bush Republican crowd. Nobody's going to want to accept something strange. They're always going to fear what they don't understand and don't know.'' -- Chiefs running back Larry Johnson on how he doesn't feel he fits in the Kansas City community

Now the "media" is going to get on Larry Johnson and call him all kind of things. They will tell him to shut up and play football.

I say keep talking and keep running!

We need more people to stand up and be heard. Change will come in Kansas City and it will come from people who feel uncomfortable and yet refuse to be silenced.
