Love Letters

Fullname: Jessie Jessup
City: Dallas

Comments: Hello,

My name is Jessie and I am a dj at KDGE in Dallas. I saw a disturbing post on the Blue October message board and wanted to inquire as to it's veracity.
Some of your stations listeners posted a complaint regarding some negative comments made by your morning show about the band Blue October. The jist of it was that you were encouraging people to go to see People In Planes but then to leave and forget about Blue October...
If this is true I would like to know why you would say such a thing.
Blue October is an astonishing band to see live and the rapport they have with their fans is beyond merely passionate. If you have never seen a live Blue show I hope you will give them a chance when the hit KC.
Ultimately all bands deserve to be treated FAIRLY and with a modicum decency. Encouraging people to leave a show crosses a professional line that not only disrespects the artist in question, it is also an affront to your listeners who may not share these alleged negative view points.
As a long time devoted supporter and good friend of Blue October I had to write and URGE all of the Buzz jocks to go to this show and prepare to be dazzled Blue October will blow you away

Why did Afentra say she was going to leave before Blue October? Because she is. Imagine that. The truth! Shit! What a concept.

I think the real affront on any listener is not being honest.

She is the exact reason why radio "sucks". Bullshit, fake people lying to you on the air. Thinking if she doesn't appease your every whim you will not listen. That she can't speak to you like an equal because if she disagrees with you. You will obviously be offended.

Hey Jesse! Try it. Just once. Admit not every song you play is great. Admit you have to do things you don't want to do. Have an opinion. Share it. Even if your opinion makes people mad. Even if your opinion is an unpopular one. Admit your mistakes. You will be dazzled at how people react to people who are real.

I put Coldplay and Jack Johnson in my top 10 albums last year. Not a popular take on this message board. In the end I could have put an "indiecredible" band in those spots and perhaps not have people question my musical taste.....but I wouldn't be being honest. I would rather people question my musical taste. Not my integrity.

Even if it means admitting I like Blue October and I'm staying for the show.

Change?

how has your life changed in the last three years? Have you had second doubts? Have you changed your mind?

Here is how George Bush has changed in the last three years.

George Bush today

"First, just if I might correct a misperception, I don't think we ever said -- at least I know I didn't say that there was a direct connection between September the 11th and Saddam Hussein."

George Bush 3 years ago

"The use of armed forces against Iraq is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001." [President George W. Bush, Letter to Congress, 3/21/03]

Classic?

I was watching VHI Alternative Classics. They played a Bob Mould video. One I hadn't seen before. Come to think of it I'm not sure if I have ever seen a Bob Mould video before.

The world of music moves at a fast pace. It made me wonder. How many copies of Workbook did Bob Mould sell?

I bet it wasn't and isn't very many.

He went from small passionate following to classic with little fanfare in between.

I wonder if he got the memo.

I Watched it.....

I was watching some talking head news program. I'll admit it I love them. I love them all. Some people shy away from conflict. Some people don't want to hear opposing ideas. I love to hear them. Perhaps I will learn something. The real reason I watch them is I like to feel anger. It keeps the blood boiling. Makes me feel alive.

I watched something on some show tonight and they were talking about the same shit they always do. The War.

Some college professor told his students G.W. was an asshole and that the United States was the leading manufacturer of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

The talking head thought we should probably stone this teacher in Towne Square.

I was along for the ride. I lit another Lucky Strike. I was gathering my bearings. Listening and thinking at the same time. Picking my side(usually the wrong side)when the talking head said something that shocked me.

"We may have the most weapons of mass destruction but we use them for peace. We used the A-bombs in Japan for peace".

I turned the channel.

Did you know Nick and Jessica are getting a divorce? Tom is still going to get married to Katie and Donald Trump thinks Martha is a bitch?

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
